Just a note for anyone as addicted to the terrific Dictionary popup (Command+Control+D) as I am; here’s how to make it work in Snow Leopard:
- Open Service Preferences (System Preferences → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts and choose Services in the list on the left), enable Look Up in Dictionary (under Searching) if it’s not already enabled, and set its shortcut to Command+Control+D by double-clicking at the right edge of its row.
- Open Dictionary and its Preferences and select that the Contextual menu “Opens Dictionary panel”.
Of all the things to not migrate seamlessly…
This migrated for me alright, although I installed several previous SL seeds as well. The Dictionary preferences does help me to finally get the contextual pop-up in Preview, but only when I right click. Are you able to find a settings combination that makes Cmd-Ctrl-D on a PDF in Preview open a contextual menu?

Nope, but it never did, if by “open a contextual menu” you mean “open that spiffy definition panel”.

Err, yeah, that dictionary popup panel. At least being able to right-click and get the panel is a step up from having to open the full Dictionary app to get a definition in Preview.
