World: Where’s our 3G? Also, GPS.

Steve Jobs: Well, 3G chipsets would kill the battery life.

World: Oh, bullshit.

(Setting: Mid-2008.)

Steve Jobs: Due to popular request, our new iPhone will have 3G! Also, GPS.

World: Awesome.

(Time passes.)

World: Hey, what’s up with the battery life?

  1. See my previous comment – battery life is worse on 1.0 iPhones, too. I skipped the 3G/GPS craze (in large part due to the total incompetence of AT&T staff – they don’t even know their own plans), and my old iPhone has significantly reduced battery life since 2.0 – even if I use it only as a phone.
