It is wonderful.

  1. Jesper - please just clarify for me!

Are you running this under Fusion, or directly in Bootcamp? Or is it a case of downloading/installing under Bootcamp and then getting Fusion to access your Bootcamp partition as a VM?

I’m just a bit puzzled by what you actually ended-up doing, and I’d love to try Portal. I run a brand-new iMac with many VMs under both Fusion and Parallels, but I’ve not done anything with Bootcamp (yet).

  2. I started out by setting up a Fusion VM with a disk image, and trying to run Portal under that just caused it to crash hardcore, with a cute sheet saying how I should report the errors in this or that log file to them.

The way I’m doing things now is by using a Boot Camp partition in VMWare when needed (everything but Portal), and in Boot Camp when needed (Portal), and this seems to be working as long as you don’t forget to install the VMWare Tools.
