Things I Did Not Know About Interface Builder 3.0, Entry #98257

You can drag stuff (including entire selections of multiple objects) back into the Library window. Wonderful. There goes my need to curse the clipboard for being only one level deep.

  1. It was never pretty, but you could do the same thing (including multiple objects) in IB 2, using custom palettes. This looks a lot nicer though.

  2. Of course you could, but I don’t place that on the same planet as this feature. There’s no code writing or bundle creation, there’s just drag and drop.

  3. Not what I meant. I guess you didn’t know about this either. grin

    In IB 2…
    1. Tools > Palettes > New Palettes
    2. Opt-drag anything (including entire selections of multiple objects) into your custom palette.
    3. There is no step 3. Well, maybe use the stuff.

Strangely enough, though, I never actually use(d) this. Maybe I will be using the nicer equivalent on Leopard.

  4. Wow. And I even knew about resizing windows while scaling contents, about changing the content view’s subclass and about locating the precise object of anything by ctrl+shift+clicking anything.

Maybe it was worth redoing IB just to document everything. ;)
