Happy Second Birthday, Django

Two years.

If I would want — after continuous experiences of not getting along with it, mind you, not just preconceived misconceptions — to touch Python with a stick, I’d like to use Django. The approach it takes to web programming is a lot more like the way I usually work than is Rails.

  1. I’ve been playing around with Django this week, and wished it had been around two years ago. Pretty much all the work I’ve ever done in PHP could’ve been done in half the time had I have just had the ORM features alone.

I’ve now got to look forward to reformatting my machine and compiling Apache, mod_python, mysqldb, Python and Django just to set up a server. .dmgs have spoilt me something rotten :-( Ah well…
