Blue and Grey

So this is the new look. Blue header, grey background, all sans-serif, comments by me marked, ads less in your face, and so on. Let me know what you think.

  1. Blue-header on Grey?

Seems a little cliché, considering that’s (almost) the default Wordpress theme.

I quite liked your green-on-brown, it showed you weren’t afraid to try daring and bold color schemes.

  2. It’s only “(almost) the default Wordpress theme” if you say “Blue-header on Grey”. Look at Kubrick (the default theme) and this page side-by-side, and there’s a lot of difference.

I also liked the colors of the previous theme, but I wasn’t happy with the link color. Brown is a problematic color to use as a background, and if you’ve got visitors blessed with toilet humor (which I haven’t got, thankfully) it’s even more problematic.

All in all, I like the way this one turned out, even if the idea was that it would turn out different from the previous look in different ways than this one does. Can’t win them all, I guess.

  3. I like the new design, especially the whole grey area.. It’s looking very cool

The effect with the ads is really good! I actually thought there was more than one ad, and that I was seeing some scrolling bug, but it seems pretty generous that you only used one ad, and in such discrete colour scheme!

Re: “(almost) the default WordPress theme”, I could be missing something, but I don’t see much similarity at all

  5. I looked at the comments form as it appears if you’re not logged-in and I saw that the positioning of the x+y=z thing was a train wreck. This has been fixed.
