- A trackpad that does not feel like glass, and is reasonably sized.
- Actually, reasonably-sized trackpad buttons and keyboard keys too, for that matter.
- Caps/Scroll/Num Lock indicator lights in conjunction with their actual keys.
- Drag-and-drop install. (Office for Mac offers simple Drag-and-drop install for those who want full install, and I did.)
- A simple “add dial-up connection” dialog. (The wizard is nice, but I had a total of two values to fill out - username and password is irrelevant on this connection - and that took six wizard pages. Before XP, there was a simple “add dial-up connection” dialog.)
- A simple wireless networking interface. (This is not about me not being able to handle Windows’ wireless networking. I’ve been doing wireless networking for years, and mostly in Windows. This is about Windows’ wireless networking interface being a pain in the ass compared to what it could be.)
Things I missed when installing Office, setting up a dial-up connection and installing a wireless networking PC Card on a Windows laptop earlier today
