Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Excellent plot. Good humor throughout. Very nicely paced - it felt like a longer version of the 30 minute shorts, but through an expanded plot rather than being drawn-out.

What I like about this movie the best is that it completely nails the feeling that all the 30 minute shorts have, while being extremely well thought-out. You can’t guess the plot five minutes in, and you can’t even guess it twenty-five minutes in.

Five out of five.

FileRun

I am intrigued and would like to subscribe to their newsletter**.

FileRun (the link above) is a file manager slash Finder replacement for Mac OS X. It’s gonna be out in February. End facts, start short rant.

The biggest of all Finder alternatives is Path Finder. Its features, too, look good, but the app is constantly being weighed down by its fledging ways. I downloaded the newly released Path Finder 4 the other day. I spent all of 30 minutes trying to peel off stuff I just didn’t want in the UI. Even then, there were things in the UI that I did not want that I couldn’t get rid of - like the Drop Stack. After using it for half a day, I just didn’t feel comfortable with it.

The screenshot on top of FileRun’s page is, it seems, an all-singing all-dancing screenshot. It makes a lot more sense to me than my customized Path Finder did. And, here’s the rub - it looks more svelte than my customized Path Finder.

I have a good feeling about FileRun.

** Oh, and their newsletter? In the sidebar.

Microsoft is in the process of blowing $120,000,000 on advertising to convince local markets around the world that they’re really not the big behemoth they’re perceived to be. "Well, we were going to spend $121,000,000 but we realized that we couldn't, because we're a small actor." · 2006.01.24 17:42
