MacRumors uncovers a new revision of their "live coverage" setup, based on asynchronous Javascript - the page will literally fetch new material every now and then without reloading the whole page. The material is regenerated every tenth second and distributed to a number of servers using light-weight and efficient HTTP servers. Cool and bandwidth-saving on their part. It will be used today, which you already will know unless you've been living under a rock with your fingers in your ears in a bolted shut wardrobe in a deep cave which is also bolted shut inside one of Mars' moons. · 2005.06.06 04:28 (x)

  1. Worked like a charm… for about 5 minutes. I have never seen macrumors’ keynote coverage die so quickly. :(
