Ironic

April 15, 2003. Under the Iron, the first Waffle spin-off ever, launched to absolutely no fanfare at all, featuring an interview of Jeremy Hedley of the iconic weblog “Antipixel”. Ever since I’ve been lagging behind.

Somehow, I’ve managed to post 13 more interviews after that. But right around February 13 2004 - the date of the last interview (with the excellent Dan Cederholm) I tanked. I’ve only been attempting one interview ever since - I completed the actual interview, but never actually edited it (the second stage) and put it up (the third stage, obviously). It’s disrespectful and arrogant.

Not to mention the awful “Pro” micropayment period I tried out. I completely missed the point - people support people publishing online because they write excellent articles or act as a good filter towards the current happenings. You don’t just demand money for doing interviews, even with really, comments-posting, smart people. It’s horrible. It, too, is disrespectful and arrogant. The person on the other end didn’t get any of that money, wasn’t informed thereof and next to noone read the damn thing. I’m doing this as a hobby, not as a job, and I really want to continue doing this.

Thus. Under the Iron will, once again, return on April 15. New interviews, new looks, new attitude and hopefully a new schedule - as often as I can. Until then, go read some other, excellent sources of interviews, like the colloquially named Drunkenblog. And I would be happy to have you as a reader on April 15. It won’t cost you a dime.
